The Story

the company's products and solutions include wireless products, core network products, network products, application and software, as well as terminals. The company serves the ISP, enterprise and consumer markets and has rapidly become one of the very few global alternatives to Cisco.

At the turn of the century, the company was embarked into a spectacular growth and was facing multiple challenges to sustain its growth's extreme pace. The management then decided to focus their internal R&D resources on core projects for the coming 3 to 5 years and to outsource all other projects to a selected list of qualified partners. Most of the agreements signed were BOT-type ones (Build-Operate-Transfer), whereby the partner would hire, train and host a team to develop and support some the company product lines. The entire team and resources were to be eventually transferred to the company.

Venus Software Corporation (Venus) was among the selected outsourcing companies in China. The three major product lines assigned to Venus were intelligent network, call center, and short messaging system.

Venus started with an initial team of 20 engineers in 2000, and expanded it up to 200 engineers in less than 2 years, outpacing the other the company’s outsourcing partners in both productivity and quality.

Based on this outstanding achievement, the company appointed Venus a privileged partner for global outsourcing. During the course of 2005, the team was successfully transferred to the company, as per the BOT agreement in place between the two corporations.
